Vector Guru - text along path
Hallo! Today’s tutorial will be short and simple, but very useful for beginners. I’ll introduce you some simple tricks with text in Adobe Illustrator.

Text along path.

Let’s create two kinds of paths – closed and open and try to write some text using “Type on a Path Tool”.

Use Pen Tool to create open path – just create some points and press Enter.

Select “Type on a Path Tool” and click path, then type some text.

Now we have text along path! But what if you need this text from the other side of the line or inside the circle? It is simple!
Choose “Direct Selection Tool” (letter “A” on keyboard), click on text you need to transform.

Three guides will appear – on the beginning of the text, at the end of the text and middle guide. Press on the middle guide (digit 2) and pull it to the centre of the circle (to the other side of the open path) holding the mouse.

Voila! You text now is from the other side of the line!

You can also use two other guides to move the text along path using “Direct Selection Tool”.

I hope this tutorial was useful for you. Good luck! :)
